Principal Physio – Melanie is the Principal physiotherapist and began Gold Coast Sports & Spinal Physio in 2003. She graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy and completed a Masters in Sports Physio in 2002. She began her career working in private practice as well as in hospitals before working over in the UK . Following this she worked for three years in a private practice / private hospital before heading off to work in the USA. Since returning she has worked in private practice, mainly in the area of sports physiotherapy. Since 2007 Melanie has become an “APA Sports Physiotherapist”, a title awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
She has previous experience with various sporting teams including freestyle snow skiing with the ‘Australian Ski Team’ as well as Australian Rules, Rugby Union and League and Motor Racing both nationally and internationally. Her main areas of interest are with sports and spinal physiotherapy, however, she enjoys treating all sorts of physio related problems. She has completed a Pilates course for “core stability” training. Melanie is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Physiotherapy Business Australia and the Sports Physiotherapy Group.
