Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is a method to improve sporting performance and enhance your daily life. It's very common to live a life of imbalance, such as too much sitting, standing, lifting, driving, etc.
A remedial massage can neutralise the imbalances in your body and make you perform at your optimum. Tight muscles can have a huge effect on your life causing sleep loss, headaches and many other symptoms. When these muscles become knotted and tense or damaged, remedial massage provides a healing treatment tailored to by our experienced Massage Therapists to each client's needs either gentle, or strong, deep or shallow.
Remedial massage uses several specialised techniques to locate and repair damage to muscles, tendons and joints. Our therapists will help to support and speed up the body's own repair mechanisms. Massage can be used as an adjunct to your physiotherapy. It can be used to assist with back and neck pain, headaches, sprains and strains as well as post injury to speed up recovery.
Key Benefits of Remedial Massage
Key benefits of remedial massage include stimulation of the blood supply allowing toxins in the muscles to be removed; the calming of the peripheral nervous system to ease pain and discomfort; and the toning and relaxing of muscles to improve joint mobility. An improvement to the health of the cells, the repairing of tissues and the easing of stiffness and tension can also be experienced through therapeutic relaxation.
Athletes
If you are an athlete at any level, then you can improve your results with a remedial massage. Many elite athletes have a personal physiotherapist and massage therapist to treat their injuries, big or small. Doing a sport at any level will naturally lead to tightness and or sore muscles.
Without treatment, you become very prone to injuries during your training sessions – this is why recovery is as important as it is. Remedial massage removes tightness and soreness to restore your body to its full capacity.
